Mushu restaurant- it's safe! Just walk in!
Ah, don't you just miss that hianese chicken you ate even for a budget in Singapore or Kuala
Lumpur? Well, homesick for it? You can find a good copy of it here in Bacolod!
That's right! The same juicy chicken texture, about the same sauce, the same rice and the same style of serving can be found
right here in Bacolod. But! You'll just have to pay a bit more- it's about 220 pesos (with service charge included) a dish!
(That's about 5 US) In Singapore, it's about 150 pesos (5 Singapore Dollars in a mall cafeteria or about 3 US) I remembered,
and in Kuala Lumpur, I remembered it was about 100 pesos. (About 2.2 US)
Other interesting and important info:
WHAT MY FAMILY HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT:
Grandma: (Getting impatient, note: She is not in her normal state of mind!) "The waiters are stupid! Where's the food?!"
(Harrasses the staff about her food)
Mom: "Mom! Quiet there! Relax!"
IMPORTANT NOTE: The service was very good! (The staff were sweet and courteous!) It's just my grandma was hungry already
and we were all still waiting for the rest of our relatives to arrive. (As Filipinos, we eat together- it's a fun way of doing a family
outing.)
Brother: "The servings are so small! It's like for the birds!" (Oh, he eats a lot- like a pig. No exaggeration.)
Cousin: "Sometimes the food here is better than China." (Of course! The food is catered to the Philippine tongue!)
Favorite Dish: Other food I've eaten at the restaurant:
Pork steak- It was nice, in fact, I like it better than the hianese chicken! But if you're going to share it with 6 people in a table,
like what we did, I don't know but I kind of starved!
Rice- It's as small as a bowl- but good.
The Indonesian beans- It looks strange, it's EXOTIC and I didn't like it.
The hot chocolate brownie with ice cream desert (Obviously, my favorite dish! People trying to lose weight or obese people
beware! This is a thousand calories- no exaggeration!) - About 110 pesos.
Cost of food: All the food prices were about 100-220 pesos range.
We've spent about 2500 pesos for 11 people. My grandma, who accepted to treat us for the meal, eyes and mouth drop
in horror when she saw the bill. Oh well, like what my mom always says:
"It's only once in a lifetime!"
Address: Lacson street and corner of 20th st.
Comparison: most expensive
Directions: It's near Bar 21, and near a newly constructed modern looking restaurant. You can miss it so be on a look out. Lacson street is a main road with hardly any trees at well and a lot of good restaurants.
Other Contact: Just walk in!
Price: less than US$10
Rating: 5

This is how it looks! You can't miss it!
NOTE: The vegetarian, people anxious about their weight will hate this!
This is red ribbon: A pretty popular cake/food branch here in Bacolod and I didn't puke with the food here- I enjoyed it!
The cakes are sweet and tasty (explains why I usually buy them), the food (Spaghetti, palabok for ex.) is okay though don't expect a gourmet taste (it's catered to the Filipino tongue) and don't expect it to be similar like the pasta in Italy okay?
THE FOOD & PRICES:
Cake- depending on what cake you choose, it's 35-45 pesos per slice. The slice is good enough for a light stomach or a medium stomach but if you're growing, or you just love to eat- it might not be enough!
-Spaghetti with cake (depends on the cake of the day, can be a Tiramisu cake (so-so), a mocha cake (yum!), or a chocolate cake (yum!) and so on) and softdrink (coke, or ice tea)-
90 pesos. (If you have a light stomach, it can be your lunch, if medium, just finish the softdrink but if your stomach is heavy, you might complain!)
-Palabok (Noodles with yellow sauce, a nice Philippine delicacy- it was sour and at least it didn't kill my tongue (It was okay)) with cake and softdrink- 50 pesos (small), 80 pesos (large)
-Creamy Carbonara (I don't like it- it was too sweet and creamy) with cake and softdrink-
110 pesos
-Cheesy lasagna- 400 pesos for a group size. (I never tried it and If I were you, I would rather buy more cakes instead!)
And there's still more food! (Chicken, bangus (Milkfish) and so on, I haven't tried them so I can't say.)
If you ever eat here, you can easily spend a 100 pesos or more. (Unless you're really strict and just take the cake slice and go!)
For many students (Who told me), Red ribbon is pretty expensive for them. You can't blame them- If their allowance is only 40 pesos and below (some just bring food from home), of course they can't afford it. I don't know about you guys and I don't know if you'll like the food but anyway,
It's pretty good for the cakes.
Favorite Dish: - The cakes- If it weren't for the cakes, I would never eat here!
MY FAT BROTHER: "I don't like the spaghetti- it's so sweet! But the palabok is okay, and the cake." (Oh, he'll just eat anything if he's hungry!)
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot: In my opinion only, avoid the chicken poppers (I think), it's small, expensive and you'll go hungry!
Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: At the corner of Bob's cafe and across the Riverside hospital- you can't miss it (unless you're blind of course.)
There's also a branch in Robinsons, near Dunkin Donuts and is just as good.
Price: less than US$10
