Coming from Braga, passing S. Bento da Porta Aberta, and Campo do Gerês you follow the directions to Vilarinho das Furnas. You'll end up at the Dam. If you cross the dam either by foot or by a motor vehicle you'll find the guardians of the gate which will lead you to the village. Ok, they are just local keepers whom you have to pay a small amount to let you pass through the path at the right of the dam. If you go by foot you pay something like 50 cents and and this path will take you to the village. On the way to the village you'll find a small bridge to and then you can contemplate the nice and refreshing cascade on the left. Take a look at MacroLandXCape for other pictures.
The village of Vilarinho das Furnas is fully covered with water kept by the dam. During this year, there's been plenty of rain which makes it good for scuba-diving visit the the remains of the village. Although not recommended (there are warning signs) but very nice anyway, some people take a nice swim on the artificial lake.
Take a look at MacroLandXCape for other pictures.
