New York - A Place I Never Tire Of

New York
New York is fantastically vibrant, energetic and multi-cultural cities. There is never a shortage of things to do and people watching. New York is one of my favorite places to eat. I often plan my trips to New York around restaurants.

I love almost everything about New York. I say almost because we had our wallet stolen once and we experienced horrible service at the airport on another occasion. However, I still love this city and I know I'll be back.

I've already been there seven times and only one of those times was for work!

Evolution of a tourist in NY

When I first visited NY, I...
- Would get tense when the taxi driver took up two lanes
- Smiled at people in the subway
- I carried a subway map and read the signs to see where to get off
- Strolled through the subway stations
- Wore white
- Enjoyed visiting times square

Today, New York is a city I feel pretty comfortable visiting and it usually only takes me a few minutes to adjust and take on the city vibes. Now, I...
- Race out of the subway station
- Cross the street as I please
- Don't look at people on the subway train
- Wear dark colors
- Never go near Times Square
- Hang out in SoHo and Brooklyn
- Go jog in Central Park
- Eat dinners at 11 p.m.

- The Met
- Everything about SoHo

- Subway system
- Liberal
- People watching
- Show off factor
- Walking city
- Warm summers and thunderstorms
- Independent city
- The Clintons
- Business center
- Fashion
- History and art
- Strength and character
- Great place for photography

and much, much more!

We visited Billy's Bakery, too, on our first (& only) trip to NYC. A friend steered me here for the mini cheesecakes but we were enthralled by the cupcakes. Did you know Billy (now Lauren) once baked for Magnolia Bakery???
