A Brief Stop in Frankfurt | Römerberg, Frankfurt, Germany |
The first stop on our 3 week European vacation was Frankfurt. We flew into Frankfurt and arrived in the morning. This left us with an afternoon and evening to take in Frankfurt before our departure. |
| | Römerberg and the Römer Since we had limited time, we decided to walk from our hotel to the Römerberg to see the Römer.
During the war, nearly 80% of the old city was wiped out due to bombing. In the Römerber, which is the old central areas of Frankfurt west of the cathedral, you can find restored 14th and 15th century buildings. The Römer, or old town hall, is in the northwestern corner of the Römerberg and consists of three 15th century houses topped with Frankfurt's trademark stepped gables. |
Our first official stop on our trip where we enjoyed some great German Beer! This is at the restaurant in Römerberg. We only had drinks. They had nice tables outside..with heaters! | | |
