HONOLULU
<font color="green"size=+1>is where I grew up although I was born in Kealakekua. I have done a page on Kealakekua, a small little town, a now you see it, now you don't kind of place as you travel the main highway through Kailua/Kona.
Having been brought over to Honolulu as an infant, it is well known to me as I've watched it transform over a span of 60+ years from a relatively small city to an Island weighted down with what you see now.

<font color="green"size=+1>I will try to take you on a visit to Honolulu both as a tourist and the area which was my playground as a child, taking you through some of the changes that have taken place during a large part of the past century.
Much of this has already been reviewed in the HAWAII ~ CAPTAIN COOK ~ KEALAKEKUA pages which attempt to provide you with something more than what to see and how to see it.
Let's explore Honolulu and go to some of those out of the way places which continue to succumb to the changes forced by population growth. There remains a great deal of Honolulu worth exploring and it does not require much more than a means of transportation, a map and some of your time.
Just as has been attempted on my HAWAII page, there will be the usual tourist information interspersed with personal recollections, a little history and insights that may prove to be useful.
|
