Among the things that many people want to do is to climb the highest mountain, sail all of the oceans, go around the World, things of that nature are part of what we are and what many of us want to do.
We wanted to travel on the longest rivers in the World. Just a few months before we had the good fortune to travel up the Yangtze River on a Regal Cruise ship, the PRINCESS SHEENA from Wuhan, China to the last stop that these ships are able to negotiate, Chonquing.
We'd already been on the Nile, so now this was the coup de gras, THE AMAZON which is quite aptly named.
Let me take you back to the beginning of this adventure which was in Sao Paulo, connecting to a flight to Santiago, Chile. The ship, ROYAL PRINCESS takes 28 days to go all the way around from the West Coast of Chile, then up the East coast of South America until you finally arrive at Manaus, deep in the Jungle.
I'll start at the mouth of the AMAZING AMAZON working up the River and then tarry in MANAUS & BEYOND.
|

Madasabull Wed Feb 19, 2003 18:44 UTC Great page. I cant wait for my trip in April 03. With the exchange rate so good, I have managed to get my superior room at the Tropical, for under $70. | kenHuocj Thu Aug 1, 2002 02:34 UTC a most enjoyable revisit ;-))) | smoox Thu Nov 29, 2001 09:18 UTC Great page.
