Theres bugger all in Reykholt but nearby theres stuff to do. Reykholt is about 1 - 1 1/2 hr from Reykjavik and can be visited in a day trip. At Fljotstunga which is near Husafell just abit further east of Reykholt is Vidgelmir cave, a 1 1/2 km lava cave. In this area the lava fields are 60km long and 1100 years old! nothing grows on the lava, just moss! the cave is spectacular and worth a visit at just 1200Kr for 1 hr. You can also go horse riding in the area for 2800Kr for 1 1/2hr.
