"Small Island!" Malta by littlebush

Malta is tiny but busy!
Its approx 30km by 20km and is actually made up of 3 islands - Malta, the main island (400,000 people), Gozo (approx 5km by 3km - 30,000 people) and Comino (tiny, only able to visit in Summer, only 6 farmers live on the island).
The main airport is on Malta.
Malta is one of the most heavily populated countries in the world so the roads can be very busy!
Its relatively warm all year round - i went at the end of November for 4 days and had one day of rain but the other 3 days were sunny at 20 degrees. In summer, it hits 40 degrees.
The coastline is very scenic and the islalnds are very hilly, and full of very hostrical ruins.
I personally thought in places it looks a bit like a concrete jungle in the interior with all the buildings looking bland and the same.
Most beaches are rocky, theres only a handful of sandy beaches.
Its easy to drive around the island in a day including stopping off.
People say the drivers there are crazy but i found driving there easy (It helps they drive on the left, same as UK).
All in all, i enjoyed my stay, i would probably go back, again in the off season but only if i got a real cheap flight.
