I went to Milan in December 2003 for just 24 hours. I know that 24 hours isnt long enough to get to know a city but i thought it was enough to take a look around and get a feel for the place. I was surprised at the size of it, home to 1.6million people. Its the fasion capital of the world(Paris may argue), and the boutiques show that with their price tags. The Duomo in the city cenre is a fine piece of architecture with stunning views of the city from its balcony. The surrounding area of Milan probably offer the best things to see on a trip here, the lake, like lake Como are probably worth visiting if you have the time. Theres loads of art museums in Milan if youre into them, personally im not so to be honest, i was a little bored. The Last Supper painting by Da Vinci is a big tourist attraction but apparetnly you have to book up....we didnt. I just thought the Duomo was superb and worth the £21 flight from London to visit. |
