El Gouna - Lagoon paradise El Gouna is not recognized by VT, so I used Hurghada which has an international airport to several Red Sea resorts including El Gouna. El Gouna is a small town and is well-known by tourists who want to spend a rather peaceful and quiet holiday.
You can find this type of lovely corner in the town. |
| | El Grouna Center El Gouna city center. As you can see, it is a quiet small town with a few shops and restaurants.
El Gouna is also a bus transit point to go to several other villages, towns and hotels. |
| | Christmas tree in El Gouna This photo was taken from the balcony of my hotel where the Christmas Eve reception was held.
It is nice to see both Christians and non-Christians saying to each other "Merry Christmas" especially knowing this is an Egyptian town. I am not a member of any institutional religions but it is nice to witness people to join the celebration of other religious groups. Respect for diversity was prevailing on the Christmas Eve. To witness it with my own eyes was a great delight for me. I enjoyed talking to people from many countries of diverse beliefs who gathered at the hotel. |

Nemorino Sat Oct 24, 2009 13:39 UTC Unusual Christmas Eve photos! I'm glad you enjoyed "talking to people from many countries of diverse beliefs" who gathered at the hotel. | Regina1965 Wed Jan 21, 2009 09:32 UTC Lovely, I like the hotel and what a funny looking bus. Regína | yumyum Mon Jan 5, 2009 20:00 UTC Lovely sunny destination! I rode on such buses in Pakistan many years ago and ever since then I have knee troubles after a while when I cannot stretch my legs. | Zvrlj Sun Dec 28, 2008 16:47 UTC The place looks great. What a contrast to a view I have looking through the window right now :-) BTW see our Switzerland pages, hope you'll like them as we visited some the same places. |
