The prefecture of Arta has got a lot of beauties. Awe-inspiring mountains covered with wonderful dense forests, turquoise lakes, crystal clear rivers, wild waterfalls .... It has picturesque mountain villages, fertile valleys, orange groves, beaches, lagoons full of fish, good food, friendly people..
There are nice hotels and a lot of restaurants and grill houses, easily tracked by the delicious smell of meat being roasted over the coal fire!
Climbing, hiking and mountaineering offer you unforgettable experience. There are excellent routes for rafting and canoe-kayaking in the beautiful Arahthos river.

Wow, we visited Arta and the surroungings way back in 1981, have never met anyone else who has been there...we must go back to see what you showed us we missed. Thanks, Martin
What a beautiful place - and about as far removed from a Greek Island landscape as a place could be! I'd love to see the inside of the Panagia's church. leyle
Wow..what an amazing opening photo of Arta! Your photos here are incredible!! What a tragic tale of Arta's bridge.
kokoretsi for breakfast! oh my god, I feel sorry for them! :)
