Resende Costa Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 21 photos

This picturesque town of about 10,000 people crawls up the side of a verdant hill. At the top the light blue church attracts the eye. The stunning views from the plaza next to the church can keep you still for hours! Art is interwoven with the people's life not only being a source of living but also as an artistic feeling in their private lives. In the many craftshops but in their houses as well. If you look carefully you will discover a window, door or roof that is a token of their artistic spirit.

It became a town in 1911. Its first name was Lage and in 1923 it took the today's name..
It was involved in the Inconfidencia Mineira as Captain “Jose de Resende Costa” and his son were of the Inconfidentes. The captain didn't die, as Tiradentes did, in the rebellion but in exile in Africa.
