A modern Arabic country with amazing sites
Having lived a year in Jordan I can only recomend that people visit this amazing country. It has tourist sites, hiking, trekking and water adventures and lots more. Amman is a modern city with bars and restaurants and lots of nightclubs were locals and expats spend their nights out.
There is one thing to remember..there is no souq, no Arab feel to the city and 1001 night feeling is fare away.
One of the beautiful deserts in Jordan is Wadi Rum in south Jordan. Here you are not allowed to drive and local beduins will drop you off at a camp from where you can hike further into the desert. Amazing nature! Maybe water sports are more your thing and then Aqaba is where you want to go. Five star hotels with different facilities and offers - including dolphin watch.
A place that is well suited for a longer stay or even settling down.
