We visited the West Rim by plane from Las Vegas. There, we had about 3 hours on the ground and had a great time, learning about the sights and taking in the views.
The Hualapai tribe has lived in Arizona since before America was discovered. The capital of their land is Peach Springs and are one of the tribes that can, by law, own eagle feathers and use them in their colorful clothes.

Hi Mariel, I enjoyed reading about your whirlwind tour to the West Rim. It's a bit scary that there are no hand rails.

Grand Canyon is such an impressive sight! I once walked down on a steep trail with sneakers and 12 kg backpack and camped down there somewhere and on the way up. Great experience :)
