I found these details on some walls while walking around.
Picture 1 is a detail I found on Via della Conciliazione. It represents the Capitoline Wolf (breast)feeding the twins Romulus and Remus, who later on found the city of Rome. It also says the year in Roman numerals: 1943.
In
picture 2 we found an angel holding a street lamp. I found it on the corner of Via San Pio X and Borgo S. Spirito. The angel is between 2 name lists and below it has an inscription saying
"Ai suoi figli caduti nella guerra 1915 - 1918 Il Popolo di Borgo" (To the sons perished in the war 1915-1918, WWI, the people of Borgo). If I have translated the inscription wrong, please correct me.
On the street leading to Porta Sant'Angellica and to St. Peter's Square, I found this mosaic of the Virgin Mary on
picture 3. It was easy to not notice when you think that you're visiting St. Peter's but the colors and the fresh flowers caught my attention.
Observe: if I have written an address wrong, let me know and I'll edit the tip :)
