Hostile take over (for you Stieg Larsson fans)

Me waiting for the boat in front of the Opera house, with Amalienborg and The Marble church on the background in Copenhagen.

Recent updates and/or newest pages: Oslo, Cascais, Frederiksberg and Copenhagen.
Used train ticket, Shanghai - Beijing

My travel trivia so far (approximately)

I have traveled with 17 airlines (several more than 3 times), flown to 26 airports (including those where I have only connected at) and with 52 different airplanes. Stockholm - Arlanda (ARN) and Santo Domingo Las Américas (SDQ) are my home airports.

Denmark is the country I have been at the most, connecting or otherwise, not counting my birth country and the one I'm living in.

My longest flight is Vienna - Beijing with a distance of 7,480km and a duration of 9,5 hours. My shortest is Santo Domingo - Puerto Plata with a distance of 175 km and a duration of 30 minutes.

My first train journey was Gothenburg - Stockholm, roughly 3,5 hours (not counting the commuter train to and from work) and my first long distance train journeys were Beijing - Shanghai - Beijing, both in the overnight and day trains (about 10 hours each way).

I have also taken ferries from Stockholm to Helsinki (twice) and Tallinn and from Frederikshavn to Oslo.

Although I'm not a fan of subways (metros or tubes), I have used this way of transportation in several cities: Vienna, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Montreal, Beijing, Paris, Madrid, London, Budapest, Rome, Lisbon and most recently in Santo Domingo. Trams, on the other hand, I love very much and can't get enough of them in Gothenburg, Lisbon and Vienna.

I have also traveled extensively in my home country Dominican Republic in buses (the longest journey took 6 hours), local buses, cars and "motoconchos".
Fred's art in Samaná

Help me to help a VT friend!

The closest from a real life friend is of course VT friends, and this VT friend I want you (yes, you who are reading this!) to help is Fred. Fred has a disease called ALS. He doesn't want money sent to a charity or research organization, he just wants your time, kindness and help with his project, which is to have his art travel the whole world as he's not able to. All you have to do is photograph his art in your country.

This is taken from Fred's page, about ALS: "ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease in the United States and elsewhere in the world as MND motor neuron disease, is characterized by the rapid, progressive death of motor neurons, nerve cells that feed all the voluntary muscles in the body, including muscles used for breathing. As these motor neurons die, the muscles, lacking nourishment, atrophy, resulting in paralysis of all voluntary muscle. In about 90 percent of cases of ALS, there is no family history. Ninety percent of ALS patients die within three to five years from the date they are diagnosed. The cause of ALS is unknown. There is no cure. There is no effective treatment. ALS occurs throughout the world at about the same rate of roughly one in 100,000."
