"Austria's beautiful capital: Vienna" Vienna by hungariangirl896

I consider Vienna to be one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. It is rich with history, art, architecture, classical music, culture, and of course, great food. Unfortunately, the last time I was in Vienna, I was only able to spend a day, so I would like to share what I saw during my brief visit as well as what I would like to see during my future trips. Vienna is too nice of a city to only visit once! :)

Most of my time in Vienna was spent at the Hofburg Palace. I walked through the State Apartments and saw the imperial silver and china collections. It was also amazing to see the many large candelabras inside the palace's mirrored rooms. During the next visit, I want to see the Schatzkammer (Imperial Treasury) and the Kunhistorisches Museum.

Walking inside the Stephansdom was very interesting, but touring the catacombs is still on my list. ;) The Ringstrasse and the Kohlmarkt were also very nice places to go walking. I will always remember the Rathaus (city hall), since I first saw it during a lively Austrian festival involving beer, food, and folk-dancing. The Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace, Karlskirche, and the Naschmarkt are on my list for next time. :)

Another memorable experience was eating lunch at Demel's Cafe. It showcases some of Austria's best food and desserts.
