Visiting Angkor We booked a tour from ASIAN TRAILS just for the two of us and it really really was good!!! We had a young woman named Horn with immense knowledge and roaming the temple for two an a half days with her was fun and interesting. We were happy, not be in a large travelling group, because wandering around the ruins we could everwhere and all the time ask about details or stories to be explained carefully, comprisingly and in German . Well worth the money!!! We did not cli,b up all the way to the top, but in the main temple we admired the long friezes and our guide knew a lot of stories about the Khmer mythology makes the stories come alive like this... |
Dinner and Dance shows We had a dinner buffet with khmer food) delisious!!!= at Siem Reap with a Dance Show of the Apsara) heavenly dancers ) like the girls in the reliefs on the temples= and it was fun. The stroies that were told about the peasant S life was recognizable, the dancers had fun and the costumes were just gorgeous, I will add the adress later, I am a new membber, so I l have to look up thes stuff in my archives i.e.scrapbooks... |
Don t take the speed boat to Pnomh Penh We flew in from Saigon and took the boat to Pnom Pemnh. Never again!!! It is an old east german speedboat very very loud , aircondition nil or overpowring airstreams that blow your head of, It is nice to see the fishing villages, but the noise over the hours is nerve wrecking!!! Next time we would take the boat from Chau Doc in Vietnam to Pnom Penh and fly in and out of Siem Reap |
