I'm Al, I'm a newly qualified airline pilot (witout a flying job for the moment). I'm an officer in the reserve forces and my interests are fitness training, flying, socialising (probably excessively) and obviously travelling. I have an acute inability to book a trip anywhere in the world without ending up in Egypt. I have just booked again for August this year, this will be 9 trips to Luxor in as many years. From the Sheraton to The Meridien, the Sonnesta, Old Winer Palace, Old Cataract, cruise boats and now (due to budget restrictions) the Mercure Inn. The hotel doesn't matter; it's the experience of Egypt that makes the trip! If you've only seen Luxor make the effort to get to Aswan, the Nile at the first cataract is breathtaking... and if you have the time Abu Simbel is awe-inspiring! Edfu is stunning and Kom Ombo amazing, at night it takes your breath away. |

| | Luxor August 2006 The West Bank (in particular the Valley of The Kings) in August is by far and away the hottest place I've been in all my travels... but one of the most fascinating. Apart from the obvious Luxor and Karnak temples do not miss the oportunity to go to Deir al Medina, The Ramesseum and Medinet Habu. |
