We recently spent a weekend in and around Bolton. before I went there I thought of Bolton as a kind of "poor suburb" of Manchester. Nothing could be further from the truth. For one thing, it's far enough from Manchester that it's not really a part of it, and for another thing it's not poor. There's plenty to do and see in and around Bolton, there's a lot of history in the town and the countryside of the East Lancs Moors is only a short drive away. Above all though, our weekend in Bolton gave us an opportinity to dress like idiots :-) |
