"Grasmere - Village & Lake" Grasmere by steventilly
Grasmere Travel Guide: 35 reviews and 56 photos
Grasmere is an absolute gem. A beautiful, tranquil lake with great views all around, a lovely village, Wordsworth connections, and walks in all directions for all abilities.
It's not "perfect" though - the lake is hemmed in on one side by a busy road, which makes "round-the-lake" walks not quite as pleasant as they could be, and getting to the lake from the village is quite a hike down a boring road. It's worth it when you get there though.
In addition, the popularity of the village coupled with the comparative lack of car parking can make visting quite tricky and frustrating at times.
- Pros:Beautiful Lake, Nice Village, Good Walks, Good Eating Places
- Cons:Parking, Lake Hemmed In By Road
- In a nutshell:Love The Place
