"Saltaire" Saltaire by steventilly

Saltaire Travel Guide: 78 reviews and 148 photos

Saltaire is a part of Shipley which is in turn a part of Bradford. It is a "model village" built by mill owner Titus Salt to house, feed and educate his workers.
Despite being amongst the urban sprawl of the Leeds/Bradford conglomeration it has a quite rural feel, being set by a canal and a river and being only a few minutes away from the rolling countryside of this part of Yorkshire.
Since our first visit a couple of years ago this has become a favourite place of ours and we come here often, staying weekends on more than one occasion.

Lots of new pages from the VT UK King. I'll be back to check out the non-beery sections later. Real Ale sounds great to me and it's only 9 AM here. ;)

Beeties is such an unusual name, it sounds very homey and cozy! Great tip on the David Hockney museum, too. I love getting away for the weekend to places like this.
