Whitburn is a bit like the posh part of Sunderland, so much so that they would deny being "in Sunderland". And strictly speaking they're right, as Whitburn is in South Tyneside rather than Sunderland. It's just along the coast though from the Sunderland's coastal areas of Roker and Seaburn.
