|  | We only visited Dusseldorf in order to meet a good friend of mine, Sabsi. I had the impression that Dusseldorf would be much like any big English city, and in fact that Germany (and particularly this part) would be pretty much like England. |
For instance, I didn't realise that Germany has this outdoor "cafe culture" that seems so common in France, Italy, Belgium and so on. I expected them to just have pubs like back in England. Crowded bars, full of noisy youths all hell bent on getting drunk. How wrong I was. I was totally amazed by Dusseldorf - the warmth and friendliness of the people; the great atmosphere the place has at night; the variety and quality of its bars and cafes; the array of shops... Really, now if I could choose somewhere new to live, Dusseldorf would be high on my list.
