LFP Cops Feast on Speeders and other Lake Forest Park, WA Warning Or Danger Tips

LFP has more police officers per capita than anyother city in Washington. This city is one big speed trap and the posted speed is just 25mph.....my car will hardly idle at that speed!

What to do if you see flashing blue lights in your rear view mirror:

Pull over to the right.
Pray for leniency!
Remain in car.
Have drivers license, car registration or rental car lease, AND proof of insurance card ready.(Insurance is required in the State of Washington. If you do not have the card you will receive a $436 ticket just for not having the card present and will have to go to court automatically to get it removed even if you actually had the insurance. If you do not have the card they will almost always also write you a ticket for the reason that they stopped you)
Keep your hands where the officer can see them.
Don't admit to anything!
Always sign the ticket for the officer....does'nt admit guilt, but you only verify that it is you that is receiving the ticket.
You do not pay the officer, that would be construed as a bribe. You will mail in the ticket and money or request a court date.

The City has a digit monitor that is moved around to warn people of how fast they are going and still people speed and get caught! Enlarge this photo and you can see that someone else's car will actually go as slow as 23MPH!

LFP cross walk signs are a bit different from others that you may see in the Seattle area. Just a reminder while driving, do not go through a cross walk even if the person is in the other lane. Come to a complete stop until the person has arrived on the curb.
