Lake Forest Park constitutes three square miles at the north end of Lake Washington. To the south, Lake Forest Park begins at the city limit of Seattle. To the north, Lake Forest Park ends at the Snohomish County line. To the east, the city is bounded by Lake Washington and at 55th Avenue NE where the city of Kenmore begins. The city's western boundary is at the city of Shoreline's city limit.
Quick Facts:
· Population: 13,142
· Median Age: 42
· Percent 65 and over: 13%
· Percent 19 and under: 24.7%
There are parks and playgrounds, wetlands and streams within the city limits. Active citizen commissions help shape recreation and conservation efforts. There are two beach clubs on Lake Washington offering access to the lake and boat ramp facilities. The popular Burke Gilman Trail , linking the Puget Sound to the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range, runs along Lake Forest Park's lakeshore.

The majority of Lake Forest Park businesses are located at or near Lake Forest Park Towne Center, although there is another retail area located at the southern border of the city near 145th Avenue NE. Recent remodeling of the Towne Center shopping mall included the addition of a stage and meeting area where community events are held. A post office substation and the city's branch of the King County public library is located there as well. The city is primarily residential, there is no industrial development in the city limits

Hi Ken, thanks for your comments on my HB page. Lake Forest sounds pretty terrific too, perhaps we should nominate your house next Christmas as the "new" Griswold domain! Great Harvest Bakery here just closed up :-( no idea why either

I went to Lake Forest Park last week visiting a Chinese friend that lives there. Also, I stopped by Great Harvest Bakery and had six samples of bread thanks to your tip. Mmmm, banana chocolate chip loaf!

Thanks Ken. Just moved to North City. Saw the sign for Animal Acres Park today and was hoping for a dog park. (Alas...) Nevertheless, I appreciate the info. and have some new places to explore with the dogs on leash.
