Coastal Breakers Just North of Florence - Florence

Sleepy Coastal Community

I have been working in Eugene for the last three months and had the need to see the ocean, so one Saturday morning I hopped in my car and drove to the Coast..specifically Florence. This sleepy little town of 7000 has been determined to be the Number 1 Rated Retirement Destination in the USA. I am not sure how that was determined but I will go with that fact from the Chamber of Commerce! The day I went was a rainy blowing Oregon Coast day. But I had a hat and a coat and a camera and enjoyed the viewing the dramatic Coast Line and the crashing surf.

Ken, what a lovely description of Florence. Even though the weather was windswept and grey, the photos are still enticing accompanied by your delightful insights. Loved the restaurant tips.
