Five Stories of Living Quarters
Taos Pueblo is a Native American Village that has had continuous inhabitation for over 1000 years. It also happens to be a sovereign nation within the United States! The existing building date back to about 1400 AD. About 150 people live year round in the pueblo and many of the rooms are currently used as shops to sell the crafts of the inhabitants- jewelry, textiles and pottery. The site was recognized by the World Heritage Society as one of the most significant sites in the world. Other recognized sites are the Pyramids of Egypt, the Taj Mahal and the Grand Canyon.

Beautiful photos, Ken! I've got to go check out the pueblo. Did you know St. Jerome is the patron saint of archaeologists?

I was delighted to read your pages on Taos Pueblo. Being 1/4 American Indian, I am "drawn to" anything about the American Indian. You've done a great job, and your photographs are fantastic. Thanks ever so much.
