Symbol of the Plains

The windmill made Beeville possible as the water table is too deep to allow for shallow water wells. At the start of the 20th Century nearly every home in Beeville had a water well powered by a windmill. Now, they've been replaced by electric water pumps and a city water supply, but without them Beeville would not be the thriving center of the region that it is today.

Bee County Courthouse

Built in 1910, this courthouse is an fine example of classical architechture. It was restored to its former glory in 2006.

A Rainy Day In Downtown Beeville
