"Scuba and Snorkeling at Volcano Krakatau" Carita by radtanu

Krakatau is located in Carita - Banten, West Java. To reach Krakatau, you can go from Jakarta city by road. It takes about 2-3 hours depending on the traffic. Once you arrive in Carita - there are so many hostel or budget hotel to stay. The Krakatau itself is in the sea. And before you're taking off to Krakatau Mountain, you should choose a good boat. The speed boat is a choice as if you choose ordinary (wood) boat, it will go slow in the water and you cant reach there fast and on time as the trip itself takes about ( more/less ) 2 hours to go to Krakatau diving area

The mountain has some anak volcano krakatau ( child of Krakatau). And to diving or snorkeling there, you must check with BMG whether it is quite safe or not to go. There are two sides to dive. The one is next to big krakatau, on right side
( i sometimes confuse to decide where is right and left...lol) anyway the other one is behind of them. This Krakatau had erupted in 1883. Here is the source: http://volcano.und.edu

I only go for snorkeling. Some friends who have a diver certificate went down to the sea and take some photos down there. And look at the fish that they found!. It is so nice and cute, isn't it?

• Pros:Go to Carita after 9PM from Jakarta, it helps to avoid the traffic
• Cons:Don't go to the sea after 8AM. Do it at 630AM as you should be on time to reach the diving area to avoid the big wave and wind during the trip
• In a nutshell:The Volcanos with a million story!
