No student discounts anymore

Expensive but definatelly worth it

You buy tickets here
Petra is the most beautifull thing I have seen in Jordan.
There are more things to see there than just the Treasury.
Just wander around make as many stops as possible and take your time.
But I think one day is enought to see most of the important parts.
That is if you are not an Nabatean expert and archeologist freak.
Than maybe not even a week is enough.
Seeing Shivta in Negev desert in Israel and in Siwa in Egypt, the other great Nabatean places, this is really something different.
Anyway, the Petra even without the incredible achievments of Nabatean engineering would be the most beautifull place in Jordan.
If you think about the whole place than you have to agree that the guys were genius.
Indiana Jones at it's full light

Remember the new 7 wonders?

It's kind of funny but even before seeing the Petra we were kind of "force" to vote for Petra.
Funny ain't it?
Just meters from the ticket office you can buy a lot of shi= touristy stuff in Indiana Jones store and then just go through a gate like at the airport.
It is quite a walk to the city itself but the area is full of astonishing stuff so you will be surprised by the things you will see.
Whatta?

Lonely planet is not always right

Lonely planet is a hulpfull source of information but only in general.
In fact most of the stuff in guides of Egypt and Jordan were not very good and even the maps were really bad with bad names of the streets and location of the streets.
