Cedar Key is a great place to visit if you just like to sit and watch the water, occasionally seeing dolphins playing, and relax! There are several motels and condos close to the water. The one I recommend is Gulfside. The rooms are on the smallish side, but adequate and they do have some with kitchenettes. Very nice people and have their own dock which makes watching the water so much easier! They rent bicycles and golf carts altho Cedar Key downtown is small enough it is very walkable. Couple nice museums. Not as many restaurants as in years past, but think a couple of them are getting ready to reopen. Go during the week if you want to avoid the bikers as that adds too much noise to the ambience.
