Rome is glorious

Vatican Visit

Check schedules before planning your visit to the Vatican. This may seem like silly, simple advice, but I did not check myself and unfortunately wasted too much time. I assumed that the Vatican was always open, at least during normal business hours. However, we visited at Christmastime and were unaware of the San Stefano holiday on Dec. 26...the Vatican Museum was closed for the day. This is where the Sistine Chapel is located. Also, Saturday hours are shortened. The good thing is St. Peter's Basillica is usually open, so our day was not completely lost.

In A Nutshell:"Rome is majestic, inspiring. The hot shopping spot, Via Condotti, is lined with designer shops and packed with tourists of all kinds. Rome takes at least 3 days to take in and that's with careful, concise planning."
