If you go to Safi

Safi is NOT a tourist destination, but should you find yourself there you will find many things of interest, the phosphate works & fishing port (sardines) dominate the landscape and both smell horrible.
There is a museum of ceramics, a walled Medina, tours of the ceramic factories and few interesting mosque's.

Been to Safi twice and not seen that ugly big industrial thing - but quite okay to see the town centre, ceramics and huge tagine dish that takes up half the roundabout and which they actually cook the hugest tagine at a special event each year.
