A friendly smile goes a long way I hope you enjoy my tips, If you find them useful please pass them on to other travellers. Thanks.. As everyone will tell you Essaouira is full of charm, plenty to see and do, Its true the shop keepers might call out and hassle you, but be polite and ignore the rude ones. The people who work in the shops only make a small commission on what they sell, they don't earn a wage. Most Moroccans live on less than 50 dirhams a day. And PLEASE be kind to beggars, there is no social security in Morocco. |

TheView Tue Jan 20, 2009 19:19 UTC Hi Sue Thanks for your great and informative pages ;-) I am looking forward to visiting Morocco for the VT-meeting in the springtime ;-) | Diblo Fri Jan 16, 2009 13:10 UTC I would NOT recommend this restaurant. All 4 of us got seriously sick after eating there. Have been to Morocco 5 times and never got sick before. The food was mediocre, the service slow. Nothing Mexican about the food, it must have been reheated. | angiebabe Fri Dec 12, 2008 07:42 UTC wow wish Id known aabout La Cantina when we were there last!though I was happy with where we did eat and having yet another tagine!but will definitely have to return for another visit! interesting tips here thanks. | pecsihornet Sat Aug 2, 2008 20:32 UTC we are looking forward to seeing Essaouira, we will go to Morocco in October.
