I hope you enjoy my tips, If you find them useful please pass them on to other travellers. Thanks..
As everyone will tell you Essaouira is full of charm, plenty to see and do, Its true the shop keepers might call out and hassle you, but be polite and ignore the rude ones. The people who work in the shops only make a small commission on what they sell, they don't earn a wage. Most Moroccans live on less than 50 dirhams a day. And PLEASE be kind to beggars, there is no social security in Morocco.
- Pros:Very relaxing in the off season
- Cons:Very busy from June to September
- In a nutshell:Moroccan tourism at its best

Hi Sue. Hubby and I will be in Essaouira on 21 September 2011. Hopefully we might meet you. Angiebabe wants to catch up too. Would that be possible? Cheers, Ann from Perth, Australia :o)
I have light luggage but I might find a carousa man to guide me to my hotel so I'm not looking for it alone. Thanks Sue!
Sue, interesting to read you live in Essaouira. We visited Essaouira in 2007, considering this town as one of the places in Morocco to live after retirement in a couple of years.
I like your tree tip (the kind only a local would be able to write)!
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Hi Sue Thanks for your great and informative pages ;-) I am looking forward to visiting Morocco for the VT-meeting in the springtime ;-)
I would NOT recommend this restaurant. All 4 of us got seriously sick after eating there. Have been to Morocco 5 times and never got sick before. The food was mediocre, the service slow. Nothing Mexican about the food, it must have been reheated.
wow wish Id known aabout La Cantina when we were there last!though I was happy with where we did eat and having yet another tagine!but will definitely have to return for another visit! interesting tips here thanks.
we are looking forward to seeing Essaouira, we will go to Morocco in October. Thanks for the tips! Greetings from Hungary Gabor
