The Magnificence

This is the place to see, and is one of the few wonders that maty even compete with the luxury of European estates, even to this day. It started by George Vanderbilt and a grandson took over to allow public display in 1960's. It took nearly 30 years to get into a state of luxury and needs tourism to support the overhead.

The Grounds Featured

The 8,000 acres remaining are still well taken care of and driving down into the estate can be overwhelming. Much beauty

Garden Display

The gardens are some of the most fabulous in that area, let alone the US. they are well maintained and are worth a 1/2 day strolling through them

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Lovely and beautiful estate home and grounds

This is very impressive! You would think some other VT'ers would have been here, looks like only you though!

I went to school with 3 brothers who lived on the Estate. Their family were the caretakers.
