Elegant Old Style Homes

The luxury of the town has past, but some homes still are pretty well maintained, and kept up to date in color features. Most are from 1940-60's era.

Downtown buildings

There are a number of old buildings from the turn of the century-1900's that is. They have been well maintained and most still in use today. The Bothwell Hotel has been an anchor for locals to meet and visitors to stay since 1927. It has 48 rooms, and all still featuring the theme of old days. The Fox theater looks to be newer at maybe 1950's?

Ornate Churches

The first church is from 1889, and now closed due to cost to maintain this huge monument. The other is the local main Methodist church and very active.

First Baptist Church

The First Methodist Church is made of Missouri limestone from Carthage. The structure was built in early 1900's, and still is active with members today.
