The City is on the Water's Edge and Wonderful

The Coastline is fabulous and beaches are available, the easiest being at Dania Beach area. This is an aerial photo from the plane of a connected section near FLL. It depicts that growth comes all the way to the edge of the water. The Intercoastal Waterway traverses nearly the length of Florida, and Ft. Lauderdale is the epicenter. It has less traffic off the main I-95 and a biot more spread out to relax and enjoy.

Main Thoroughfare for Cruises

WE were taking our cruise out from here on the way to Cozumel, Costa Rica and Panama for 8 days. Take a look at those sites for the reason we took the cruise-besides pigging out on food and taking in show entertainment. The access to the Port Everglades is very easy, and thousands get here daily. It seems that 10+ ships will take off form here weekly; maybe more.
Key artery is I-95-runs through the city
The main highway is I-95, but A1A is the old and frequently used also. Manuveuring around the area is fairly easy, even though we had not used a car for years here. The first trip was business back in 1976. Not that busy then, and the Flager name ruled the State.

Pros:"Easier place to access by air and vehicle"
Cons:"Traffic that comes from I-95 and a lot of it"
In A Nutshell:"The city is a good staging area to see sites locally"
