VAil is Spread Along US 70

There is about 2 mile stretch for exits coming off US 70 highway, and 3 exits.They are for east, middle and west ends of Vail. This complex has continued to expand over the last 30+ years, and now is a thriving community with all the amenities, and then some. The attraction to VAil is the recreational sports activity, and it started with winter skiing. Now it is year round.

They have taken down a number of trees to provide first the ski lift areas. That has now expanded into also biking, hiking, and other outside sports that people like to partake.

The initial panorama view from the visitor center area allows you the opportunity to see the retail shops that are to be visited, along with the mountains as backdrop of the scenery

  • Cons:Too many of the La La people trying to spend money-$$
  • In a nutshell:This type of resort is not for me, and I can spend elsewhere

    This brings back memories. When I lived in Colorado, I passed through Vail many times, stayed there a couple of times, but never skied there. Thanks for checking out my Morocco page the other day.

    Thanks for the detailed info and unbiased tips. Since I am not one of the wealthy folks I'll better avoid this place. But the surrounding nature - what's left untouched - looks intriguing.

    Thats expensive parking, but I guess everything is expensive there! We enjoyed the quick look as it was so different to home.
