This is typical decorated building that has a great deal of extra work into the facade. Someone, a long time ago carved out all that decoration form the stone front
Theere are so many pretty and well kept buildings ringing the square. Each deserves a picture-but we did not this time
This structure was began in 1300's, and the special presentation surrounded by all the beautiful buildings of the square. After it burned, it was rebuilt in 1550, and got Renaissance look from the times of that architecture. The top was blown off once form a hurricane and rebuilt again. It stands about 180 feet.

Sound's like a good restaurant!
Hi, Bruce! I like those lovely views of the citty buildings.... Lots of love and respect invested into them.....
Bruce, fabulous little page about this Polish gem. We visited Pozanan at the beginning of this year and really enjoyed the city a lot, not only because of the sunny weather we had.
My memories of Poznan date back to 1971 - a grey and dismal place then and steak definitely not on the menu! Great to see some of the changes wrought by the passing years.
We were in Poznan at the Easter weekend. It was a very lovely city!
Thank you Bruce for bringing back sweet memories about this wonderful city! Planning to be in Poland in five days on the way to Germany by car... May be we'll come back to Poznan on the way back home.
