The river view getting into village

Take Strada 12 north out of Lucca and at split of 445 keep on 12. Not much to see. It used to be a famed place for spa resort and casino. Now it seems like only few visitors come this way, even though I can imagine old time locals still frequent the spas. The town name is only from 1862 it was renamed from Bagno a Corsena. The original dating of the town is around Etruscan era and then Romans, both of whom took in pleasures of the spas. Lucca had control most of the time period of Medieval 1300 forward, and even renovated the town to promote more visitors.

In the middle of foilage.

The road winds along the river and it is a nice ride. The town follows the contour of the Serchio River, which runs swiftly. The homes and spas hang right at the water's edge. It is an area called Lima VAlley.

Ah, the famous Devil's Bridge, I remember that I've read about it. What a bad thing that your camcorder broke! And sad to read that the casino closure had such a dramatic effect on the village!
