We visited 10 villages in the area of 50 miles around Grosseto. All are lovely and locals live there; hardly any tourists until you read this site to wonder why you weren't looking for a quite peaceful location.
This is typical of some of the architecture in the city walls.
Museum inside the fortress and it is nicely laid out. Some has a modern day slant on the items to view.
- Pros:Enough to see but not clustered
- Cons:Like all Intaly towns-traffic
- In a nutshell:Nice reasonable sized town to get around

Grosseto looks great, it is one of the italian towns I often heared about, but never was able to go there !
nicely written page on a place that is new to me - looking around for next summers trip at the moment !
Another interesting little page with outstanding photos. I have been to the Tuscany a few times, but never made it to Grosseto. The Razza del Casalone seems to be a good find.
Look's like Grosseto is right up my alley. Swampland, marsh's and beach make it sound like my home but with a continental flare. Interesting tips!
