Old Archaeological Items

It was closed when we got there, but I can imagine it is worth a tour inside. In spite of the dirty appearance outside, I would hope the artifacts are well maintained.
The town was under control of many countries over the years; Spanish, Austrians, French because it was a strong point to control water traffic in area and the Tyreann Sea

Wonder Pic of the layout

The town was an Etruscan settlement and Romans got control in 232 BC. The Aldobrandeschi family held control until 124th century, and then Siena took over. That was lost at times to foreigners invading to take control of the territory.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Well preserved facade of buildings.
  • Cons:Not a lot to do after the walk through
  • In a nutshell:Good smaller town that is manageable to walk
