The icon of history at arena

pictuesque view of the arches
The age on the Roman amphitheatre is the treasure of its being still in existence. Built in 30 AD for Roman events, it is today an active arena for plays and musicals. The seating can hold 30,000, but safely reasons, about 15,000 per event. An earthquake in 1117 caused the exterior outer ring to crumble. It was pink and white limestone, with many of the stones used elsewhere in Verona.
Besides the arena as an inconic monument, it is said that gelato got its origin here. That is worth a taste.
Old castle -Scaligeri

Castelvecchio Museum

The castle was built in the 14th century and the major seat for the Scala family, which ruled much territory around Verona. The layout is huge, and the courtyard very impressive, and equally impressive is walking the perimeter walls for the view and artifacts in the rooms and halls that connect.

Many buildings-all wonderful to view

The square had been the center of politics and economic life for hundreds of years. There are a number of famed monuments in the piazza that also conjuncts to Piazza dei Signori. The more important are Torre dei Lamberti, which is wonderful, along with the Scala della Ragione, Scavi Scaligeri, and close by casa Guilietta. The city is named the "painted city" due to its colorful buildings. The city thrived in 14th-15th centuries from trade, where it was a main junction for movement of goods.
