Fausto Figueiredo Statue and casino - Estoril

An ideal location for a sunshine/city break!

When you say Estoril, many would think of its casino or the Moto GP races hosted nearby. Not perhaps a great option for a relaxing holiday. How wrong they would be.
Estoril has some of the most valuable real estate in Portugal. It's no surprise really. This resort with its long sandy beach and wonderful transport links has a lot going for it. Unlike neighbouring Cascais, many of the hotels in Estoril are reasonably priced for budget travellers meaning that this slice of paradise is a great place to locate yourself for a truly memorable (and affordable) time in Portugal.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Hotels nearer my budget, lovely beach, parks and promenade
Cons:Not a lot of good eating options
In a nutshell:Within touching distance of some Portuguese gems

Great start with the hotel tip! I'll look forward to reading more. I really like Estoril, with Tamariz Beach and the seaside walk to Cascais...and it's so easy to get there from the centre of Lisbon.
