Houston Nightlife I had a great time in Houston exploring the city by night. We ate at Sambuca which was a good jazz restaurant and also Pappas and Ninfa's - the latter had good Mexican food and margaritas. The climate was good and we had great warm evenings all week. We met up with a regular expat French group at the 'La Madeleine' cafe near Rice University and had a great evening with them trying to speak French very badly. No-one seemed to mind. |
Shops I went out to the Galleria shopping centre which was huge and open late - the cab was inexpensive. I liked the clothes shops in particular and you get a great range. I also bought a lot of stuff near Rice University where there was a great 'Gap' and had a quick look at 'Victoria's Secret' (just for research, you understand). |
Skyline The Houston skyline is interesting - with modern mirrored glass and various new buildings of varying shapes and sizes. My favourite was the former Enron building in the Skyline district. |
