A Great Weekend Getaway* | Enjoying my bath at the Abigail Stoneman Inn |
I love visiting Newport. The mansions are so beautiful, you feel transported to another era when you step inside. The artwork, the furniture, the marble, the chandeliers, everything is magnificent!
I love the ocean views as well. Being near the water gives me a calm, serene feeling. It is very therapeutic. No wonder people flocked here to get away from it all.
Walking around Newport is always enjoyable. I love the cute little shops and the restaurants. Shop until you drop , then recharge with a snack...what could be better.* |

| | Best Anniversary Ever* For our First Anniversary, Chris and I decided to spend the weekend in Newport. It's one of our favorite places so it was a perfect choice. We stayed at the Abigail Stoneman Inn. It is an incredible place (check out my travelogue and tips). We had such a fun and romantic weekend. Poor Chris was still minus the use of his right arm from surgery but he was a trooper. We had beautiful weather on Saturday and enjoyed exploring Newport. We had fun walking arounf town, shopping, dining and enjoying each other's company. The best way to enjoy Newport is with someone you love!i* |
I've Been Coming Here for Years I've been enjoying Newport since I was a little girl. My parents loved coming here for long weekend with my brother and I. My first paper dolls were from the Marble House gift shop, pretty Victorian Ladies with interchangable Worth dresses. I love them and would imagine myself living in their world.
As I got older I came to Newport by myself or with friends. My most enjoyable trip here has been with Chris. He also has a love and appreciation of Newport and its history.
Definitely visit the Mansions and Cliff walk when in Newport and join the Preservation society!* | | |
