How NOT to get old
I think I really started living when I chose to expand my horizons beyond my small home town of Rhinelander, WI. That would be the summer of 1972 when I was a "worldly" 18 and moved to Illinois (Wheeling, Des Plaines and Glenview). I stayed there until "Cheesehead Land" called my name in 2008 and I moved to Kenosha, WI.
Along the way I learned that one really CAN love a job (managed a credit union for 16 years), that EVERYTHING changes for the better when you become a parent (son born in 1984) and that growing old IS optional (I would never trade the wisdom of my years for the frivolity of my youth).
I have lived, loved and lost but have learned that what doesn't kill you builds character and I gleefully accept that I've become quite the "character".
