Bracciano is a small medieval town, located 30 km northwest of Rome. It's famous for its castle and its lake, and was recently on the newspapers and magazines all over the world when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes decided to get married there. Some years before, also Eros Ramazzotti made his wedding ceremony in the castle. |

Apart from that, which of course may tempt some people to go there, the castle is beautiful and impressively well preserved. There are guided tours to visit the interior (for more information, please check my 'Things To Do' tip). |

The volcanic lake is one of the biggest in Lazio region, and very popular among (local) tourists. In the summer people organize barbecues and use it as a beach. The views of the lake from the castle are superb!
