Favorite Thing: All the water in roman fountains is drinkable. This is, on the one hand, very useful and something I really like about this city. On the other hand, it makes me so uncomfortable to see all that water being wasted! Specially after I knew that the 'Comune' of Rome has spent quite a few euros on campaigns warning about the water waste and even gave the population a special device to save water in their homes. Apart from that, on a hot roman summer, it does feel good to always have a fountain nearby, with cold water for free! Take a bottle with you and refill it everytime you see one! (it made me save a lot of money...)
